How it works

You'll Love It

Growing tired of a lifeless interior? Sometimes it only takes a perfectly placed plant to bring an entire room to life. The Aspect is the first LED grow light developed specifically for interior design, allowing you to grow whatever plant you want wherever you want while aesthetically enhancing your indoor space. Depending on what you want to grow, we have an Aspect for it! Our 20 watt model is great for smaller plants and our 40 watt model can support some larger plants such as peppers or dwarf trees.

Plants convert certain wavelengths of light into energy using photosynthesis. With the wrong light, plants will elongate or die. The Aspect was designed to grow plants using the photosynthetic spectrum while displaying them with excellent color accuracy. The Aspect boast a color rendering value (CRI) of 97, meaning our light represent colors naturally, making the Aspect an excellent choice for homes, retail locations, art galleries or anywhere color accuracy is required.

Quality of Light

The Aspect is the ideal light for both supporting your plants and displaying them beautifully indoors. With a color temperature of 3000K and a color rendering index (CRI) value of 97, the Aspect growlight promises a professional level of color accuracy usually reserved for photographers or art galleries.

Our Spectrum

Plants require specific wavelengths of light to grow and stay healthy. LED lighting provides a unique advantage over other technologies since specific wavelengths of light can be targeted. While red/blue or multi-band LED lighting can be more efficient for commercial growers, we created our spectrum for interior design. Regular white LED light bulbs struggle to support plant life since they lack red light while traditional LED lights create light not ideal for your home. By combining the best parts of both technologies, The Aspect can produce warm white light near the chlorophyll peaks needed for photosynthesis.

Assembled in Bethlehem, PA

Our Location

Soltech Solutions understands the importance of buying American. That is why we designed and assemble the Aspect in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. We choose Bethlehem, not China, because Bethlehem represents over 160 years of American manufacturing leadership. By making our products here, we are able to quickly produce custom units in hours, not months, and can maintain the highest level of quality and safety for our products!

LED Technology

Our warm white spectrum will stand out among our competitors because we know interior design is important to you! We continue to use the newest LED technology for increased light output and efficiency.

Environmentally Responsible

The Aspect does not contain mercury or lead like many other companies, we are RoHS compliant!

Extremely Long Lasting

Because LEDs operate without a filament, they do not break our burn out like traditional lights. The Aspect was designed to last for over 15 years when used for 16 hours/day. This is approximately 50 times longer than a typical incandescent, and 8-10 times longer than a typical CFL. Our patented heatsink is able to keep the LED cool and we keep our power supplies external, meaning they stay cooler and last longer!

Quality Build

The Aspect was designed to be absolutely silent and long lasting. After assembly, every unit is inspected for quality.

Warranty

Soltech Solutions offers a 90 day return and a 3-year warranty. If your light stops working within 3 years of the purchase date and you did not abuse it, get it wet, or otherwise destroy it, just send it back and we'll send you a refurbished unit.

Spectrum

The Aspect spectrum was designed to support plant life without any sacrifices in color or efficiently. LED technology allowed us to focused on a 1:4 ratio of blue to red light to support healthy plants while adding a full spectrum of color to create warm white light. We also provided enough far-red light (680+ nm) to enhance the photosynthetic efficiency of other wavelengths using a process called the Emerson Effect.

Quick Start Guide

Health Benefits

Plants have been long considered beneficial to their environment. Research has demonstrated that plants not only absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, but can also absorb harmful pollutants.  The NASA Clean Air Study suggest that certain common plants provide a natural way of extracting up to 87% of pollutants from indoor air, including benzene, formaldehyde, trichloroethylene, ammonia, and more.

Plants can Increase Productivity, Well-being & Creativity

No one can thrive in a lean space, including you. Feeling connected to the natural environment promotes a sense of psychological, physical and social well-being.  Various studies, including one done by the University of Exeter, suggest that office plants boost well-being at work by up to 47%, creativity by 45% and productivity by 38%.

Two other studies, 1, 2, suggest test participants at a desk with plants showed  improvement on the attention task than those sitting at an empty desk. These studies also found that plants increased workplace satisfaction, self-reported levels of focus, and perceived air quality.

LEED Certification & Energy Savings

Choosing the right plants can help reduce operating cost of your home and office. Some plants can reduce energy loads on HVAC systems by reducing the amount the outdoor air the system needs to exchange. A few plants can significantly filter the air, regulate humidity, increase oxygen, and improve the general health and well-being of the employees. For these reasons, live plants can potentially help you move one step closer for LEED certification. We recommend one plant every 100 sq. feet of occupied office space. With the help of the Aspect, you can now add plants to parts of the office with no natural light without making a major impact on your electricity bill.

ASPECT

The Aspect is the first of its kind LED grow light made for residential spaces. Plenty of lights already exist on the market for people who want to grow on a commercial level, but these lights are either too bright, emit harmful UV rays, or were only designed for maximum plant yield using pink light. We set out to change this by designing a household friendly light made for any room. Our design allows your light to match the existing décor of any room while actively growing your plants. The Aspect is an industrial styled light that is ready to use out of the box. You can keep the industrial look or choose to hide it behind an optional lamp shade to match your existing decor. You won’t have to worry about changing the bulb, high electricity bills, or purple lights in your household anymore!
This is the most common question we get. The short answer is that the white light produced by the Aspect is unique and is not at all comparable to the spectrum of any store bought light bulbs. This is due to our unique spectrum that was designed for both plant growth and general lighting. The Aspect provides a significant amount of output that corresponds with photosynthetically active radiation, commonly known as PAR, which is the acceptable wavelength range for photosynthesis. Like most LED grow lights, we have peaks of light that correspond with Chlorophyll A and B, Chlorophyll Synthesis, Carotenoids, Carotene, and far red Phytochromes.

To expand on that answer, our white light is produced in such a different way as compared with store bought LEDs that it deems a full explanation. First, it is important to know what white light really is. White is a combination of the primary colors red, green and blue. In the LED industry, companies use two methods to produce white light. These include mixing light from red, green and blue LEDs or by using a yellow phosphorous coating over a blue LED. The latter is a more efficient and higher quality solution for home lighting and is used by nearly every LED producer. This works because a large amount of yellow light stimulates both the green and red cones in our eye, tricking us into seeing white. This method is great for lighting, but provides too much green and yellow light while not providing any of the critical red light needed for plant growth.

The Aspect set out to solve this problem by first focusing on the spectrum required for photosynthesis, then adjusting that spectrum until we got a high quality white light!
The addition of plants to a room can instantly change the atmosphere and add that kick your décor needs to stand out and feel complete. Plants also have the added benefit of providing positive health benefits, such as increased oxygen levels. Many plants were found to remove up to 90% of carcinogenic chemicals from the air. We changed the way you think about décor, so get creative and light up the corner of your room with a lemon tree or hang some herbs off of your kitchen wall!
If used for 16hrs/day the Aspect will last 17 years; that's 100,000hrs. If the light burns our for any reason within 3 years of the purchase date, just return it to us and we will send you a new one.
We wanted to change the way you thought about indoor plants. Warm white light proves a relaxing atmosphere and 20 watts provides enough light to your plant without overpowering the room with light. Don’t let other white grow lights fool you, many of them have a very poor spectrum!
Green light in small amounts is fine, it actually is beneficial to most plants. Green light is transmitted deeper into the leaf and is more efficient than either blue or red light at driving CO2 fixation on the lower sides of the leaf. Some newer full spectrum lights are even including green and yellow light for slightly better yield of expensive crops. The reason not everyone uses green is because it is poorly absorbed into the plant, making it costly to use. Most LED lights on the market still focus on only red and blue light since it is the most efficient at driving photosynthesis. This keeps the price of the light affordable to commercial growers so they can produce inexpensive indoor crops year round. We use a full spectrum white light so you can enjoy healthy plants in your living room all year long!
We determined that 20 watts is the lowest amount of power that will keep your plants alive year round with no supplemental lighting. 400 watt systems are great for commercial growers looking for lights that cover large areas and can produce the highest crop yields. These lights typically can cover over 20 square feet of surface area. The Aspect was designed for residential use and only covers about 1.5 – 2 square feet. The Aspect was not designed to grow commercial plants, such as larger plants like tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, and cannabis. Additional lights will be required to provide enough surface coverage and leaf penetration for the entire plant. We recommend contacting us for further recommendations on the topic.
No! Not only do LED lights allow for high quality, full spectrum plant growth, but provide significant energy savings over all other technologies. If you operate the Aspect for 16 hours a day, 365 days out of the year, it will cost you about $10 - $20 a year for electric. Why? Because you pay about $0.09 - $0.20 per 1000 watts. It takes 50 hours (3 days) just to reach 1000 watts, meaning you can operate the Aspect for a long time without significantly impacting your wallet!
The Aspect provides enough light to cover about a 2 to 3 sq. ft. area for most plants. For plants that require low light, such as orchids, peace lily’s, Ivy, vines, peperomia, spider plants, ect, the Aspect will cover about 9 – 16 sq. ft. On average, for each foot the Aspect is hung above a plant, it will provide that amount of light. That is to say, if you hang the plant 3 feet above the plant, it will provide a 3 foot by 3 foot area with light.
The amount of artificial light a plant should have depends on the kind of plant and the amount of natural light it normally receives in nature. There are three types of plant responses, long day, short day, and day neutral. It is important for your plant to get the correct amount of light and darkness each day. We highly recommend the use of an electrical timer to create a repeatable light cycle.Short day plants form flower buds when exposed to light between 10 – 12 hours per day. Long day plants form flower buds by exposure to 14 or more hours of light per day. Day neutral plants do not change flowering habits because of day length. Many foliage plants grown for indoor enjoyment are not concerned about day length.Your plant may only bloom when the environment is simulating spring, summer or fall. You can increase or decrease the light cycle of plants to change the way they grow. Some plants require a dormant “winter” phase where the length of the day is short. With some houseplants, it may help to move them to a darker and cooler area of the home in order to allow them to go dormant. Once a plant is dormant, foliage growth may be limited and even drop off, but the roots will continue to grow. This is why fall is often an ideal and preferable time for transplanting. It can take several weeks for plants to come out of dormancy in spring. To revive a dormant plant indoors, bring it back under the Aspect.
Once you hang the light to your preferred height, just plug the unit directly into an outlet and it should instantly power on. There is no on/off switch on the unit itself so we recommend using a timer which can be adjusted to the proper light hours needed for each plant.
Many choices exist on the market; it may feel impossible to pick the right light that suits your needs. The Aspect was designed to grow plants in your living room, kitchen, and office. We are not trying to replace 400+ watt commercial grow lights used for crop yield. If you want to grow a lemon tree next to your sofa, or herbs on your kitchen wall, you came to the right place! If you ever have questions, feel free to ask us.
We build each Aspect in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania using parts from the highest quality manufactures we could find. You will not find many high quality LED grow lights built with the same quality and passion we build ours with. Our plastic is made only 10 miles away, our electrical cord is made in Utah, our boxes are printed in California by Pakible (Thanks Dante!) and our other electronics are made by the leading manufacturers of their fields. We love our local community and they support us as much as we support them. We have donated trees grown under the Aspect to the community, own a part of the local food co-op, and both of our founders sit on the board of directors for two Bethlehem nonprofits.
